CLIMOA 77th Annual Scientific Meeting

The CLIMOA 77th Annual Scientific Meeting will take place on Friday, May 8, 2026, and you may choose to join friends and colleagues to enjoy a dinner and social evening at a nearby restaurant on the day prior to the meeting – The Keg, located a 3-minute walk from the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel.
DESCRIPTION:
The CLIMOA Annual Scientific Meeting offers medical education with a focus on speakers, topics, and approaches relevant to the specialized world of insurance medicine. It also offers a dinner and social evening, as well as other great opportunities to network with like-minded individuals in a specialty whose few members are scattered widely in different cities and countries. Throughout the event, opportunities abound to fine-tune one’s skills and knowledge of insurance medicine and its specific requirements. Attendees will receive a certificate of attendance after the meeting.
Program highlights will include, amongst others, a review of non-invasive testing for coronary artery disease, a critique of novel screening technologies for cancer, an update on AI in healthcare, and an analysis of underwriting approaches to co-morbid and unrelated illnesses.

Travel
Air:
The meeting venue is located downtown approximately 3 kilometres from Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ). It is located approximately 35 kilometres from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), where the Union Pearson Express runs to Toronto Union Station downtown in 25 minutes (adult one-way fare from Pearson to Union is $12.35, subject to change).
Transit:
The meeting venue is conveniently located 800 metres from Toronto Union Station train station (UP Express, TTC, GO Transit, and VIA Rail Canada), and steps from the 501 and 504 streetcars and the Queen Subway Station (TTC).
Driving:
Several highways link surrounding cities to Toronto, including Highways 2, 401, 407, and the Queen Elizabeth Way. The nearest Canada-U.S. border crossings are at Niagara Falls, Fort Erie, and Windsor.
Parking:

CLIMOA has secured a limited number of hotel rooms for our group at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel, located less than a 10-minute walk from the meeting venue.
Our special group rate is $397 for a Traditional Room (per room, per night, single or double occupancy, plus applicable taxes and fees). High speed wireless internet is included in our guest room rate. Our group rate will be available until Thursday, April 16, 2026, or until our group block is sold out, whichever comes first. After that point, any new reservation will be subject to availability at the daily rate applicable at the time of reservation.
Individuals are responsible for their own hotel reservations and their own room, taxes, and incidental charges. All charges must be paid upon checkout. A credit card must be provided when reserving a room. Reservations may be cancelled up to 72 hours prior to arrival with no penalty; otherwise, a charge for one night will apply.
Check-in time is 15:00, and the check-out time is 11:00.
